Jordan W. Barrow (he/him) has crafted stories across multiple continents and visual mediums. Originally from Australia, now based in Los Angeles, his focus is creating emotionally resonant and visually compelling stories, with a passion on purpose driven content.
Working at the highest level in non-scripted film and television, he’s collaborated with talent including George & Amal Clooney, Taylor Swift, Laverne Cox, Rosario Dawson, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Kevin Hart, Kelly Rowland, Will Arnett, Selena Gomez to name a few. He’s developed and created programming for networks including Apple, Disney+, Netflix, HBOMax, Peacock, Discovery+, YouTube, NBC, ABC, TBS, MTV, BET, Esquire and Quibi.
A few career highlights include:
Directing and producing the feature documentary Our Words Collide. Executive Produced by Rosario Dawson, the film premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival where it won the Stand Up Award presented by the Anti-Defamation League.
Collaborating with the Clooney Foundation For Justice to direct and produce a series of short films honoring recipients of the inaugural Albie Awards with teams in Kenya, Chad, South Africa, Georgia, Lithuania, Italy and the Philippines. In the following years, this role expanded to a multi-cam capture, and crafting documentary films in Venezuela, Argentina, Thailand, Malawi, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, France, Germany and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Directing and overseeing documentary shorts for Fire Aid – a benefit supporting victims of the fires in Los Angeles which simulcast on AppleTV, Amazon, Disney+, Paramount+, Max, Hulu, among others.
Directing the talk series If We’re Being Honest with Laverne Cox – shooting six episodes featuring in depth and engaging interviews with celebrity guests. The series was nominated for a 2023 GLAAD Award for Outstanding Variety or Talk Show episode.
Executive Producing the BTS: Permission To Dance Concert Special on Disney+
Collaborating with Miley Cyrus on her Stand By You concert special for Peacock to direct visually dynamic interstitial runners.
Touring with Taylor Swift on her Reputation Stadium Tour filming content which would eventually be featured in her documentary, Miss Americana.
During the 2018 March For Our Lives event in Washington D.C., directing a series of short films highlighting sensible gun reforms that played live at the event in front of 100,000 people and on the cross network livestream.
Directing and producing a series of PSA shorts for Hand In Hand: A Benefit For Hurricane Relief For Our Lives event featuring The Rock, Selena Gomez and an ensemble of news organizations.
Directing a PSA for the 2018 election, entitled Use Your Voice with students to encourage youth voting turnout.
Executive Producing The Comedy Line Up and stand up comedy specials with Nikki Glazer, Mike Epps and Ken Jeong for Netflix.
Producing short films for multiple MTV Video Music Awards.
